Shidaa Projects brings its annual Celebration of Community to a new location this October, the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub! Come share in the joy of West African Drumming and Dance starting at 3:00 pm. We will have light refreshments by donation and the HUB will be selling beverages. This is a free, family friendly event. We will have African artifacts for sale as well as other interesting items. Come celebrate the centennial for Rupert Julian's silent film adaptation of Gaston Leroux's classic book, The Phantom of the Opera. Experience this iconic horror film with modern music inspired by Leroux's words and characters, featuring a new LIVE soundtrack by the Dylan Jack Quartet.

We sing and play sweet covers ranging from Beatles to Raitt, Joni to jazz.  Good times guaranteed! Bronwyn Fryer is a writer by day, and singer and guitarist  at other times.  At age 14, learned to copy vocal and guitar licks at the (recorded) knees of her idols Paul Simon, the Beatles, The Joans and Joni’s and Judys and Bonnies and Lindas and all those great female vocalists of those bygone days. Today she loves to sing  jazz. She is especially grateful to  her musical partner, the amazing guitarist Grant Orenstein, who plays everything from bluegrass to jazz and everything in between. The duo are often joined by guest artists who help to fill out the sound, and you can too! Sing along, and tap those toes, or get up and dance!

Brazilian-American professor Daniel Inamorato is a pioneer Queer artist and avant-garde researcher, working most often in the intersections of keyboard performance, Japanese Butoh Dance and political Art. As a Jacobs Fellow, he was awarded a full scholarship to study at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music, quickly becoming a sought-out accompanist and soloist. His creative, passionate and humane approach to performing and teaching, knowledge of neurodiversity and special needs education, coupled with impressive piano technique and sightreading skills, allows him to often work in Canada, Brazil and the US as a chamber musician, solo performer and professor. Join Tom Clearly and friends for this special performance demonstrating the versatility of jazz piano. The performance will feature jazz trio, solo piano, piano/bass duo pieces, and jazz trio pieces with bass, voice, and piano. Concert/Presentation w/ Martha Hill and Martin Duncan

In this whimsical marriage of astronomy and music, composer Martha Hill Duncan and astrophysicist Dr. Martin Duncan combine their talents to celebrate the beauty of the night sky and the magic of music. This presentation will feature awe-inspiring slides, cosmic commentary and several solo piano works from the Duncan’s astronomical piano series.

Pianist/composer, Ira Friedman is known for his merging of jazz and rhythms from around the world. The Ira Friedman Trio will be hosting the jam session. Robinson Morse will be on bass and Keith Gibson on drums. Click here to read more about Ira.

Vermont Folklife's Sugar in the Pan Trad Band plays traditional music from New England, Québec, Maritime Canada and beyond, featuring lively tunes that will have folks of all ages up & dancing!  These fantastic teenage musicians with the Young Tradition Vermont Touring Group offer creative and engaging arrangements for audiences.  They have performed at the New World Festival in Randolph and the Young Tradition Festival in Burlington; toured Cape Breton in 2023 and Québec in 2024; and have entertained at various retirement communities and schools in Vermont.
