Youth Classes

  • Broadway Dance

    Mondays, 3:30-4:30pm

    Taught by Sam Empey

    For Grades 3-5

    Step into the spotlight with this high-energy class that blends the excitement of Broadway-style dance with storytelling and performance! Perfect for students who love musicals or want to explore the world of theater through movement, this class focuses on building technique, rhythm, expression, and confidence.

  • Drama Club

    Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00pm

    Taught by Heather Schoppmann

    For Grades 4-5

    Join us for an exciting journey into the world of theater! Led by an experienced youth educator, this weekly Drama Club class introduces students to all aspects of theatrical productions—from acting and character development to stagecraft and storytelling. Through fun games, skill-building exercises, and creative collaboration, students will gain confidence, build performance skills, and learn what it takes to put on a show.

  • Disney Dance & Games

    Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15pm

    Taught by Jaeden Jagemann & Elena Guadagno

    For ages 3-6

    This class is a fun chance to explore dance as an element of musical storytelling! We will be using content from our favorite animated movie musicals to make this class extra fun! With a focus on community building, joy, and creative expression, we will meet kids where they are and foster a deep love for musical theater dance.

Middle School Classes

    For Grades 6-8

    Step into the spotlight with this high-energy class that blends the excitement of Broadway-style dance with storytelling and performance! Perfect for students who love musicals or want to explore the world of theater through movement, this class focuses on building technique, rhythm, expression, and confidence.

  • Junior Musical Theater Show Choir

    Mondays 4:30-6:00pm

    Taught by Kianna Bromley & Michael Halloran

    For Grades 6-8

    Show Choir is ensemble singing combined with choreographed dance and staging. Essentially, we pick killer musical theater songs from a variety of shows and prepare them for a performance! 

    Triple threats are needed! If you love to sing, act, and dance - this is a space for you! Come build friendships with students from all over Central Vermont who also love Broadway, Glee, and movie musicals.

  • Intro to Stand Up Comedy Series

    Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm

    For Adults (18+)

    This class is designed to help you develop 5 minutes of solid comedy material—and the skills to perform it live in front of a crowd of strangers.  Each class, you’ll perform jokes for a supportive classroom of aspiring comics, and get expert guidance from Nathan Hartswick, owner/booker of the Vermont Comedy Club, on how to improve your material and tailor your performance. 

  • Tango Series - From Buenos Aires to Vermont

    Thursday, 7:00-8:30pm
    9/11-10/16

    Taught by Effie Zimet

    For Adults (18+)

    You get: magical connection with music, with yourself and your partner. Tango is more than a dance that “takes two” – come and learn basics, how to improvise from them, how to lead and follow with ultimate sensation. Effie Zimet runs an open-role format to experience the traditional tango lineage. No partner necessary.

  • Burlesque 101 Series

    Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30pm

    Taught by Doctor Vu

    For Adults (18+)

    Join Doctor Vu for a 6-week beginner class that familiarizes you with burlesque movements and language. This class is designed for those eager to explore the artistry and world of burlesque with or without performance goals while building confidence and embracing their authentic selves.

  • Swing Dance Series

    For Adults (18+)

    In this class you'll learn the fundamentals swing dancing to big band and jazz era music! Learn how to communicate through lead and follow connection and the basics of musicality in a supportive & fun environment. No partner necessary.

Attendance & Refund Policies

Attendance

Regular attendance is important to ensure a positive learning experience for all students. Please let us know in advance if a student will miss a class by emailing us at info@mpa-hub.org.

  • We do not offer refunds, credits, or make-up classes for student absences.

  • If a class is canceled by our organization (e.g., due to weather, staff illness, or other unforeseen issues), we will offer a make-up class or issue a credit.

Refunds

Tuition is non-refundable except in the following cases:

  • If a class is canceled before it begins due to low enrollment or other reasons, you will receive a full refund.

  • If you withdraw at least 7 days before the first class, you may request a full refund minus a small administrative fee of $15. 

  • After the class begins, no refunds will be given for any reason, including illness, scheduling conflicts, or missed classes.

Special exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis due to medical or family emergencies.
